DRWF launches a new fundraising event – a walk along the south coast taking in the many historic sites of the naval city.

DRWF is delighted to announce details of the first Diabetes Dawdle fundraising event offering an opportunity to take part in a walk while taking in some of the historic sites of Portsmouth.

The event takes place on Saturday, 1st October from 10am and the walk route is set to cover a distance of 7.1 miles.

Portsmouth City view.

Walkers will meet at the Still & West pub, Bath Square, Old Portsmouth, PO1 2JL. From there they will pass landmarks including The Square Tower, built in 1494 during the reign of Henry VII, and the Royal Garrison Church, built around 1212.

The seafront walk will offer breathtaking views across the Solent, while also passing both Clarence and South Parade Pier – which could also present a suitable opportunity to stop for an ice cream!

The circular route will then take in the Spinnaker Tower and Gunwharf Quays. All participants will be given a completion medal.

The family friendly walk is open to all, and wheelchairs, pushchairs and dogs are all welcome. Parking is available and there are three toilet stops along the route.
